Summer Session Weeks 4 and 5 - July 6-16: Project Time: During the last days of the session, students are challenged to create an individual inquiry projects to share with others about what they learned in Project E3 this year. From creative writing to simulations - we have very talented young scientists!
Summer Session Week 3 - June 29-July2
Summer Session Week 2 - June 22-25
Summer Session Week 1 - June 15-18 - this week we learned about Macro-invertebrates
May 30th - today we had a field trip to the Hormel Nature Center
May 2nd - today's learning was focused on canalizing the importance of the wetlands.
April 11th - today students focused on learning weathering and deposition.
March 7th - today was a BEAUTIFUL spring day! We applied our knowledge of pollution and took it to the next step of how water effects the land - erosion. We went to the Outdoor Classroom and learned about erosion by studying the conflux where Dobbins Creek flows into the Cedar River.
February 7th - Today the students learned about the effects oil spills [and other types of water pollution] has on the quality of our ground water. In teams, they had to design and create a system to cleaning up a mock oil spill without harming the environment around them.
January 10th - We had a great time learning about the history of the Cedar River, how we pollute watershed, how to measure the effects of pollutions, and persuade others not to pollute our water.
December 6th - We began learning about the problem of water pollutions and its impact on the community.
November 1st - We introduced the Engineering Design Process & Environmental Sciences!
